Gemma has worked her way through Europe, the Caribbean and the Pacific as an action sports, dive and surf photographer. She enjoys sharing her love of the ocean with people working in the dive tourism industry as a dive instructor and expedition guide.

Many hours photographing rising swells and  intricate coral reefs environments with her camera, raised awareness to the many plights the ocean faces today. She set her sites on leaning more about the worlds threaten ocean ecosystems, by delving into a Bachelors of Marine Biology and a Masters in Protected Area Management at James Cook University. Additional work for the non-for-profit Reef Check, as Great Barrier Reef Project Coordinator, has given Gemma hands on opportunities in scientific monitoring, community engagement and  science communication.

Gemmas photography continues to document her ocean adventures and she is always open to new project collaborations. Her dream of capturing the wonders of the underwater world to spark people interest in marine conservation is an ongoing adventure.
